Great and Good Friend: I have received from the hands of Señor Don Federico Mejia Your Excellency’s letter of the 18th of March last, in which you express your appreciation of the recent visit of Philander G. Knox, Secretary of State of the United States of America, to your capital.
I cordially reciprocate the sentiments of friendship and good will which you in the name of the Salvadoran people conveyed to me and I assure you of the best wishes of the people of the United States for the prosperity of Salvador.
