Sir: The Department is in receipt of Mr. Andrews’s despatch No. 185, of the 10th ultimo, reporting that the special session of the Panaman Assembly adjourned on the 9th ultimo, and that two bills concerning the Panama-David railway had been passed by the Assembly and were then before the President for his approval or veto. Mr. Andrews’s despatch No. 190, dated the 16th ultimo, reporting that both bills have been vetoed by the President of Panama,’ has also been received.

The Department would be glad to have you send it a report, up to date, on the Panama-David Railroad project.
