Sir: I have the honor to inform you that little of importance in the political situation has occurred since my arrival here and that everything continues to center around the coming presidential elections, notwithstanding their comparative remoteness. President Arosemena is apparently most anxious to secure his reelection, and for the purpose of satisfying (as his partisans claim) the constitutional requirement is generally expected to avail himself early next month of the leave of absence granted to him by the Supreme Court.
