The currency-plan and supplementary-loan bill, with the canal feature cut out, was passed yesterday by the Assembly, which ratified that action today.

The bankers’ representatives now threaten not to accept the contract without insertion of a first option on canal construction if this is undertaken.

I strongly recommend urging bankers to accept amended contract, according to their understanding with the Department as per your February 26.
