Sir: In further reply to the ambassador’s note of the 19th ultimo, in which he stated that Francisco I. Madero was going to San Antonio, Tex., and that the ambassador had no doubt that the American authorities would direct proper measures for Madero’s arrest, it affords me pleasure to inform you that I am advised by the Attorney General, to whose department the ambassador’s note was communicated, that appropriate instructions in the premises have been given to the officers of the Department of Justice in the western district of Texas.
