Sir: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your note of the 18th ultimo, communicating to the Department your Government’s expression of its appreciation of the action of the President and the members of his administration who attended the luncheon given on board the Argentina school ship Presidente Sarmiento during its recent visit to Washington, and requesting that these sentiments be made known to the President.
It affords me pleasure to inform you in reply that I have had the honor of conveying the Argentine Government’s friendly message to its high destination. Accept, etc.,
