Gentlemen: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 25th ultimo, in which you confirm your telegram of the 16th ultimo, announcing the inauguration, on the 15th ultimo, of the [Page 422] Central American International Bureau, created by the convention signed at Washington on December 30, 1907, by the representatives of the five Central American Republics.

The department is much gratified to receive from you the assurance of your intention to do all in your power to attain the high purposes for which the bureau was created; and it fondly hopes that the bureau will prove an effective instrument toward bringing about a lasting peace and brotherhood among the Central American people.
