Sir: Referring to former correspondence relating to the case of Conductor L. C. Crutcher,a I now have the honor to transmit a copy of correspondence between the embassy and Jose Lopez Moctezuma, local attorney of the Mexican Central Railway Company, from which it will be seen that the superior tribunal of the State of San Luis Potosi has confirmed the decision of the court of first instance, by which Mr. Crutcher is relieved of all responsibility.

As at present advised, I conclude that no further action in this case is required by the embassy.

Distinguished Sir: The company’s attorney at San Luis Potosi informs me that the decision pronounced in the case of Conductor Crutcher has been confirmed by the superior tribunal of the State of San Luis Potosi. Mr. Crutcher has, therefore, been released, free from all responsibility.
