Kurds and Armenians arrested for murder of Lenz. Trial at Erzerum. United States represented at trial by British consul. I have made identical statement with British chargé that failure to protect missionaries in Sassoun in distributing charity would excite prejudice. Protection promised as soon as troops can arrive.
