Mr. Gresham instructs Mr. Thompson, in reply to the latter’s telegram of the 10th, to demand—without waiving the right to demand at [Page 626] a later date that the offenders be punished—that the school be granted a license and full protection, a permit be issued to immediately rebuild, and payment of the full value of the burned building effected.
