Sir: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your note of the 7th instant, in relation to the Apache Indians, who, it is represented, have been leaving the San Carlos Reservation in Arizona Territory and invading Sonora, Mexico.
I have accordingly submitted copy of your note to the Secretaries of War and of the Interior, who have been asked to adopt such further measures as may be found practicable by their respective Departments for the suppression of the abuses complained of.
