Mr. Blaine to Señor de Zamacona.

Sir: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your note of the 24th ultimo, relative to the raids into Mexico from the United States by certain reservation Indians who were granted permission to go in search of some of their missing tribe.

A copy of your note has been communicated for the information of the Secretary of the Interior, who has been asked to adopt all proper and needful precautions against similar recurrences.
