Sir: Owing to my absence from this city I did not receive your letter until this morning.
[Page 460]A prosecution shall be immediately instituted against Thomas Taylor, and if he can be found you shall be informed of the course the business takes. I shall proceed against him both for piracy and a misdemeanor.
