SUMMARY OF CONCLUSIONS

The WSAG received a status report on the evacuation of U.S. and other foreign nationals from Amman2 and reviewed progress on contingency planning for possible military action in Jordan. The contingency plan for military action in response to a request from King Hussein for support against outside intervention3 is to be completed no later than June 17. The WSAG also noted that there was a possibility that an evacuation from Beirut might have to be undertaken and that there were existing WSAG-approved plans to cover this contingency.4
