479. Editorial Note

The fourth preparatory meeting for the Third Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meeting was held in Brussels on September 5, 1963. The delegates still had not reached an agreement on whether measures to protect Antarctic flora and fauna should be in a code or a convention. The United States was asked to submit its views in time for the next meeting in November. The agenda for the Third Consultative meeting was discussed, and it was agreed that the establishment of a standing committee on Antarctic meteorology should be placed on the agenda.
