DR–4. Editorial Note

On September 16, 1958, the Dominican Congress adopted a joint resolution abolishing the resolution of June 18. In telegram 121 from Ciudad Trujillo, September 17, 1958, Ambassador Farland informed the Department of this action. The telegram stated in part, that the action of the Dominican Congress reaffirmed “Gimo Trujillo’s policy of associating the Dominican Republic without vacillation and without reservation to the ‘destiny of the U.S. and to all peoples in the anti-Communist world.’” (739.5–MSP/9–1758) In despatch 150 from Ciudad Trujillo, September 18, 1958, the Embassy forwarded to the Department of State a translation of the joint resolution and also of Dominican Foreign Office note 28105, dated September 17, which accompanied it.
