On June 5, Elim O’Shaughnessy called on Chancellor Adenauer to discuss European security, but before he was able to present the United States view, the Chancellor “launched into a long tirade” against a paper which had been submitted by Harold Stassen to the United Nations Disarmament Subcommittee.
