Tagg 49. Fol delivered Exec Sec 10:40 a. m., Geneva time, Sept 29:

“My dear Mr. Executive Secretary: This is to inform you that the Government of the US invokes its right under the second paragraph of the operative part of the declaration by the CPs of September 27, 1951, and hereby suspends, effective immediately and until further notice, the obligations of the US with respect to Czechoslovakia under the GATT.

“Sincerely yours, Willard L. Thorp, Chairman, USDel Sixth Session of CPs to the GATT”.

Anticipate circulation of GATT doc in Geneva and release to press in Washington.
