At its 66th meeting on August 24, 1950, with President Truman participating, the National Security Council agreed that permission to export steel rails from the United States to the People’s Republic of China should be denied (NSC Action No. 347e). Documentation on other more general questions of East-West trade at this meeting is scheduled for publication in volume IV.
