Effective June 28 at 4 p. m., the United States Government, by way of implementation of the United Nations Security Council resolution of June 25 requesting United Nations member states to refrain from aiding the North Korean authorities, imposed an embargo of all exports [Page 640] to North Korea. For documentation relating to the Korean conflict, see volume VII. The United States Government formally notified the United Nations Secretary-General of its embargo on June 30 (U.N. document S/1531).
