489. Acting President Li Tsung-jen requests following message be transmitted to President:

“Since assuming office as Acting President, I have had in mind a message to you expressing the hope that the historic friendship between our countries may be maintained, and assuring you of my appreciation for all that has been done for China under your administration.”
