3445. ReConGentel 3333, 19th, repeated Nanking 1798. Mediator could not or would not see Thomas. Suggested letter outlining facts which submitted same day and receipt taken but no reaction yet.
Meantime 13 Sikhs increasingly insistent, even threatening. Feel that settlement smaller issue which has more valid basis might further weaken case larger group.
Since Sikh delegation returning Monday53 for “answer”, request immediate telegraphic approval funds requested reftel.
