2740. Miner, American Asiatic Underwriters, local representative of Starr interests, is being held in his office by ex-employees of Shanghai Post with threat he will be kept indefinitely until some settlement made.

Police refuse to intervene.

Suggest publicity be given to this further example of labor violence condoned by authorities.
