2096. Ward informed me this morning Stokes had been taken court 9 a. m. without warrant for hearing re “spying charges” which Ward connected with June 21 report79 but whether as accused or witness or in other capacity unindicated to Americans. Ward was refused permission accompany.
Will phone Mukden each schedule until Stokes returns.
