Memorandum of Conversation, by the Secretary of State
[Washington,]
March 31, 1949.
My Proposed Conversation With Mr. Sharett
I went over with the President my proposed talk with Mr. Sharett as outlined this morning with Mr. Satterthwaite.1 The President approved it and asked that a memorandum of the conversation be sent to him after it had taken place, and said that he would say the same thing to Dr. Weizmann when he arrived in this country.
- This allusion is not clear to the editors. Possibly, Secretary Acheson was referring to an outline of the matters discussed in Mr. Rusk’s memorandum of March 29, which was drafted in Mr. Satterthwaite’s office.↩
