On August 2, 1949, Ambassador Grady appeared before the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives to testify in favor of the passage of the Mutual Defense Assistance Act of 1949. In his prepared statement and his subsequent testimony, Ambassador Grady reviewed United States military assistance to Greece and the course of the efforts of the Greek Government to suppress the Greek guerrilla movement.
