A press release was issued by General Hodge at 4:30 p. m., August 13, giving texts of telegrams exchanged between President Rhee and General of the Army MacArthur. The invitation to General and Mrs. MacArthur to attend the ceremonies inaugurating the new Korean Government on August 15 was accepted.
