I Hearing of the Yugoslav and Italian Representatives
The hearing of the Yugoslav and Italian representatives, decided upon at the previous meeting of the Council, was fixed for November 6 at 10:30 a.m.
II Recommendations of the Paris Conference on the Draft Peace Treaty With Italy39
Article 64, Part B, Para. 3
The Council considered the addition proposed by the Australian Delegation to Article 64, Part B, Paragraph 3. It was decided that the Deputies should study this question on the basis of the following new proposal presented by M. Couve de Murville:
Add to Paragraph 6, Part B, Article 64, the words:
“The four Ambassadors, in consultation with the heads of the Diplomatic Missions of the interested countries, shall coordinate and control the application of the provisions of Part B of the present Article.”
The U.K. representative reserved his position on the above proposal until it had been studied in relation to Articles 72, 75, and 76.
Article 64, Part C. Special provisions for earlier deliveries
The U.K. representative withdrew his objections to this recommendation which was accordingly adopted by the Council.
Article 67, Para. 2, Transfer of German assets in Italy
The U.S.S.R. representative withdrew his objections to this recommendation which was accordingly adopted by the Council.
Article 68, Para. 4. Compensation for damages to United Nations property in Italy
After an exchange of views, a decision of this paragraph was deferred.
Article 69, sub-paragraph (e)
Sub-paragraph (e) was adopted by the Council, the U.S. Delegation having agreed to accept the Paris Conference recommendation.
Article 71, Paragraph 1
After an exchange of views on the various recommendations and proposals, a decision on this paragraph was deferred.
Article 72, Settlement of economic disputes
After an exchange of views, a decision on this Article was deferred.
Article 74 (A), Waiver by Italy of her participation in the International Financial Commission in Greece
The U.S.S.R. Delegation was in favor of rejecting this recommendation. The U.K. and French Delegations, while raising no objection in principle to rejection, asked for consideration of this proposal to be postponed until they had consulted with one another on the subject.
Article 76, Settlement of disputes concerning the interpretation and execution of the Treaty
