233. Embtel No. 230 July 3.36 Conversations with Albanian[s?] here fail to substantiate rumors re Yugo-Albanian federation.

Acting Chief of the small Albanian Military Mission told Fraleigh37 “Albania isn’t interested in federation but wants only freedom and friendship with her neighbors and great allies”. He said trouble on Greek border is largely a “newspaper war”; that Albania is not [Page 1312] concerned greatly about border problems, relying on peace conference for fair settlement.

Albanian Diplomatic Mission expected in Belgrade soon.
