The Minister in Switzerland (Harrison) to the Secretary of State

4604. Your 1945, June 6; my 4260, July 5.24 Foreign Office note dated yesterday states according telegram from Swiss Legation, Budapest, Hungarian Government has authorized departure from Hungary all Jews in possession entry permit for another country, including Palestine.25

According same message German Government will permit transit through occupied territories. Necessary measures for evacuation will [Page 1100] be taken soon as possible by Swiss Legation in collaboration with Palestinian Bureau, Budapest. Travel documents will probably be Hungarian police passports.
