364. My 312, September 7. Colonel Barnes has now reported that on September 9 Von Lanz stated that he would send senior officers immediately to AFHQ if terms are altered from unconditional surrender to surrender. SAC has replied to this message that terms of surrender must remain unconditional surrender and that Von Lanz should be informed that details to implement such surrender will be presented to his representative at AFHQ who must be empowered by Von Lanz to accept or refuse the terms offered.
