83. Your 119, April 19, 6 p.m. Last paragraph of yours under reference: Department accepts your statement as a correct expression of its views and hereby confirms your statement. Department will take note of your telegram for future consideration. There is no doubt of the fact that the British Government agreed to the use of the Executive Committee of the Intergovernmental Committee and [Page 155] subsequently of the organization of the Intergovernmental Committee itself for the purposes under discussion and that at the time of Mr. Eden’s visit to Washington28 this was expressly confirmed.
