The British Ambassador (Halifax) to the Secretary of State

His Majesty’s Ambassador presents his compliments to the Secretary of State, and with reference to the previous correspondence on the subject of the Refugee Conference to be held in Bermuda, has the honour to inform Mr. Hull that the Legislative Council and House of Assembly of Bermuda, in order to mark in a special manner the holding of the first International Conference to meet in the Colony, have informed the Governor that they cordially invite both the British and American representatives at the Conference to be the guest of the Bermuda Government.18
- In a note to the British Ambassador dated April 14, the Secretary of State indicated that the United States Government, on behalf of its delegation to the forthcoming meeting, accepted the invitation of the Government of Bermuda (548.G1/14).↩
