For Murphy.62 Unless you perceive some objection, in which case you should so inform the Department with your recommendations, you should instruct in my name all consular officers in North Africa to maintain contact with local officials as heretofore so far as possible under existing circumstances.

Full cooperation should, of course, be maintained with our military authorities.
