The British Ambassador called to see me this afternoon at my request.
The Ambassador gave me a copy of a secret memorandum60 containing information regarding British naval and military forces at Singapore which he had prepared in response to a request made by Secretary Hull. (I subsequently handed this memorandum to the Secretary personally.)
