Memorandum of Conversation, by the Secretary of State

[Washington,] March 15, 1941.

The Ambassador³⁵ called at his request. He said that health conditions in Syria were very bad and that his Government desired that this Government request the cooperation of Great Britain to permit medical products from the United States to be sent to Syria and Lebanon. I replied that I would be glad to take this matter up with the British.
