The Chargé in Germany (Morris) to the Secretary of State

1637. My 4477, October 27, 1 p.m. 1940.76 It is announced in Berlin that the seat of the International Danube Commission has been moved from Belgrade to Orsova, the “Serbian” representative and administrative personnel have been excluded from the Commission, the transit fees at the Iron Gate are in future payable in marks rather than Swiss francs and German has been designated the “official language in the administration of the Iron Gate”.
