With reference to your telegram no. 99, April 20, 11 a.m., the Department is unable to find in its files satisfactory documentary evidence with respect to the American interests involved in the Petsamo Nickel Company. It has noted the statement in the last paragraph of your despatch no. 1753, May 9, 194061 regarding the American ownership of the “Petsamo Nickel Works”. Please telegraph the nature and extent of the documentary evidence if any in the Legation’s files showing the extent of the American interests involved in this enterprise.
