101. Department’s No. 71, October 2, received today. The four press despatches mentioned are wholly incorrect according to the High Commissioner who qualifies as “false” each report and every item.

Prior inquiries on the part of the Consulate General with a view to determining the basis for similar reports previously current here confirmed none of them.
