The Chargé in Liberia (Wharton) to the Secretary of State

55. Referring my telegram No. 53, September 6, 10 a.m. Secretary of State Simpson in a personal note informs me that the Liberian Government would appreciate if the American Government found it possible to intimate to a reliable air transport company of the United States the desire of his Government to negotiate or discuss with such company the practicability of undertaking civil aviation services between Liberia and our country.

Spaniards left here for Spain last Saturday.

It is reported that Bogaerde has been in Lisbon but now is in Vichy.
