1059. Unoccupied France is indulging in many chuckles at a sign which has been posted on the Franco-Italian frontier at Mentone reading as follows: “Notice to the Greeks: This is the French frontier”. I understand that the Italians find no humor in the sign and have officially “protested” to the French Government. Our correspondents have not been permitted to cable the story.
