The Minister in Yugoslavia (Lane) to the Secretary of State

534. A responsible official of the Yugoslav Foreign Ministry informed us this morning in strict confidence that the Yugoslav Government has made new démarches to the Italian, British, and Greek Governments, presumably to warn them against further violations of Yugoslav territory by foreign aircraft. In this connection, the [Page 563] Prime Minister told me yesterday that violations of Yugoslav territory by Italian planes are taking place almost daily.
