Memorandum by the Secretary of State
[Washington,] December 8,
1937.
The Polish Ambassador called on no particular business, except to hand me a letter, copy of which is attached,66 in which the Polish Government declines to make any payment on their debt.
The Ambassador incidentally expressed renewed interest in the Jewish problem in Poland and his deep interest in endeavoring to help solve it. He concluded by saying that he believed the acute nature of the problem would subside very soon.
