375. Today’s press under London date line October 13 states “The British Treasury has agreed in principle to grant Government credits to China” and that “Premature disclosure that the British Government’s export credits guarantee department was contemplating granting credits to facilitate British trade with China has delayed official announcement of the scheme, which may not now be revealed in detail before next week”.

Report by telegraph such information as may be available in regard to foregoing and keep Department currently informed.
