Memorandum by Mr. Eugene H. Dooman, of the Division of Far Eastern Affairs, of a Conversation With the Counselor of the Japanese Embassy (Yoshizawa)

I saw Mr. Yoshizawa yesterday during the reception at the Japanese Embassy and said to him that we are not now in position to give him information beyond that given to the press in regard to the negotiations between the Treasury and the group of Chinese officials and bankers.

Mr. Yoshizawa said that he hoped that he would be called in whenever the Department felt that it could tell the Japanese Embassy anything in regard to the negotiations.
