456. Referring to the Embassy’s telegram 451, June 3, 4 p.m.,52 Foreign Office after further consultation with the Treasury confirms that it is impossible for reasons of a legal nature to extend the period for filing double tax convention declarations. We, therefore, renew the suggestion made in our 450, June 3, 1 p.m.,52 that the Department may wish to make this information available without delay to the interested firms. We are taking steps to make this information available to American firms here.
