26. Your 59, March 7, 11 a.m.16 Treasury letter of March 16 expresses hope that any representations in which the State Department is interested may be presented at an early date, as the Treasury Department [Page 215] contemplates issuing on March 30, 1936, a Treasury Decision announcing the application of countervailing duties to certain German goods.
Tell Germans of this and point out that unless information requested January 28 is received very promptly, it cannot be used for further consideration of this contemplated Treasury action.
