454. According to an official Tass report in the Pravda October 13th Japanese Manchurian divisions crossed the Soviet frontier on 6th, 8th, and 12th of October and fired on Soviet border guards. Skirmish on October 12th included rifle and machine-gun fire and casualties reported. The Soviet Government has protested to Tokyo and has proposed naming a mixed commission for investigation.
