The Secretary of State to the Secretary of the Navy (Swanson)
My Dear Mr. Secretary: I acknowledge the receipt of your letter of January 19, 1935 (reference (SC)QS1/EF37), bringing to my attention certain considerations arising out of the fact that Japanese fishing vessels engaged in fishing on the Pacific Coast are equipped with long range radio.
An officer of this Department has brought this matter informally to the attention of the secretary of the interdepartmental committee that has been set up to consider ways and means to regulate vessels in the fisheries and it is understood that the secretary will present the matter to the committee for its consideration.
Sincerely yours,
