The Chief of the Belgian Commercial Delegation ( Forthomme ) to the Secretary of State

[Translation]

Mr. Secretary of State: Mr. Camu has just had an interview with officers of the Department of Agriculture, and it seems from this interview that if Belgium wishes to obtain the authorization to import bulbs packed in sand into the United States, a formal request to this effect must be sent to the Department in question.

Since this is one of the points considered in the Belgian memorandum of November 12, 1934,21 I have the honor of asking you kindly to forward this request, in my name, to your honorable colleague the Secretary of Agriculture.

I have heard that this was one of the privileges recently granted Holland.22

Please accept [etc.]

P. Forthomme
